Some other models can also have trouble setting a white balance and may need to be set in RAW. ** V1, V2, J1, J2, S1, Z5, Z6, Z6II, and Z7, Z7II will set a white balance on the 720 and 850nm filters only. They are calibrated to focus with all lenses. â The D700, D750, D3, D3S, D3X, D4, Z5, Z6, Z7, Z6II, and Z7II contain an IR internal shutter monitor that can cause light leaks when using very long exposures and high ISOs in the H-alpha and IR enabled conversions, in the range of 30 second exposures at 6,400 ISO. The D7000, D7100, D600 and D800 also have this monitor but do not have this contamination issue. This issue can be avoided on the Z5, Z6, and Z7 when using silent shutter mode. The Nikon Z cameras (Z5, Z6, Z6ii, Z6iii, Z7, Z7ii, Z8, Z9 and etc) additionally can have fine horizontal artifacts across the frame in highlighted areas in the IR enabled conversions due to the PDAF based sensor and different sensitivity of some rows of pixels. For help removing banding, we recommend reading the following article: How to Remove Phase Detect (PDAF) Sensor Lines in Your Infrared Photos This conversion service replaces the camera’s internal hot mirror filter with our high quality custom manufactured glass replacement infrared or clear filter. The autofocus systems are calibrated to the 50mm 1.8mm lens. This calibration results in general focus accuracy for most lenses from 18-300mm. You can also send your own lens to be calibrated to instead at no additional charge. Note, ultra wide angle lenses need special calibration. If calibrating to an ultra wide angle lens the autofocus will not work with tele lenses. ***Nikon cameras tend to struggle with white balancing in video when using filters 665nm and above. These filters will be compatible for stills, but you may not be able to white balance properly in video mode. Our checkout system is through paypal, but you do not need an account to pay. Transmission Curves (Industry Standard Uncoated Glass and AR coated filters) Focus Calibration Information: Please note that on mirrorless cameras, we calibrate the camera to focus universally with all lenses. For DLSR camera’s our post-conversion focus calibration is set to 50mm, and will generally focus well with most lenses between 20mm – 300mm. If you are sending in a DSLR for conversion and plan on using lenses outside this range, or using one specific lens, you may want to include this lens with the camera so we can calibrate the camera to it specifically. If you have any concerns regarding lenses and your DLSR camera; please reach out to our customer service team before shipping the DSLR tous. By purchasing you agree to our Terms of Purchase.
