Mars Black is a relatively new pigment that was developed in the mid-20th century. It is known for its warm, brownish-black colour and is often used as an alternative to Carbon Black.Mars Black has excellent lightfastness and is resistant to fading and weathering.Our Mars Black pigment offers excellent opacity and hiding power, making it ideal for creating solid areas of black in paintings and other applications. For use in artistic paint, it should be finely ground in a mortar before mixing it with the binder.Linseed oil : dilute the powder in some turpentine oil before adding it to linseed oil. Paint with water/lime paste : dilute the pigment in some water to make it liquid before incorporating it into the paint. Lime powder/cement/plaster : directly incorporate the pigment (up to 10% based on the weight of the binder), then mix in order to stain all of your binder.Color : Mars black pigment is a deep black, very covering, with a transparent binder.
